Astoria Paws Cats was born from one person's determination to help stray and vulnerable cats. Today, that mission continues through rescue, daily feeding, medical care, fostering and adoption.
Meet Vanessa
Vanessa is the founder of Astoria Paws Cats, a rescue built from years of compassion, dedication, and hands-on work helping cats in need.
Every day, she cares for and feeds more than 40 community cats while rescuing those who are sick, injured, abandoned, or simply overlooked. From providing medical care and coordinating spay and neuter services to fostering, socializing, and finding loving homes, Vanessa is personally involved in every part of the rescue.
For her, no cat is “just a stray.” Every life matters, and every cat deserves safety, dignity, and a chance at a better future.
What started with helping one cat at a time has grown into a mission that continues every single day.
They may not have a voice, but Vanessa will always do her best to be one for them.

Rescue
We help cats who are abandoned, injured, sick or in need of immediate care.
Care
We provide food, supplies, medical support and a safe environment while cats recover.
Adoption
When they are ready, we work to find loving and responsible forever homes.

Astoria Paws Cats Inc. is officially a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
What began with one person helping stray cats has grown into an organization dedicated to giving abandoned, injured and neglected cats a second chance at life.
Our 501(c)(3) status allows us to expand our impact, pursue grants and accept tax-deductible donations, helping us rescue and care for even more cats in need.
